The Company

Scientific Innovations, Inc. is a small business founded in 1999 by John Spiesberger Ph.D. His research is focused on discovering new scientific and mathematical principles and enabling them in software for applications in animal bio-acoustics and acoustical oceanography.

John Spiesberger

Dr. John Spiesberger graduated from U.C. Berkeley with an A.B. in Physics. He went on to get a Ph.D. in Oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at U.C. San Diego (1980). He then worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (1982-1992). Dr. Spiesberger continued his research at the Pennsylvania State University Department of Meteorology and the Applied Research Laboratory (1993-1999). He then joined the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at the University of Pennsylvania and continues to conduct his research there to this day. Dr. Spiesberger has authored or co-authored 72 peer-reviewed publications. Some of the journals he published in are the American Naturalist, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Journal Geophysical Research, Acoustical Physics, and Oceanography.
